Local events that we might tap into with the other groups in the valley: Arizona Science Center, The Challenger Center and Yuri's Night.
Yuri's Night
The Phoenix AIAA had their officers meeting this morning and approved funding a hospitality night at the Space Access conference on the evening of April 12. Mike will set it up with the hotel.
If the Moon Society, wants to offer some programming from the evening that would be great. Last year there was a space trivia contest that was fun. Something fun or light hearted would be cool rather than debating space policy. We will need some input from the Chapter Members on suggestions for hat to do at the next Chapter meeting.
Felix and I are still discussing panels for LepreCon38.
Don brought up drilling a shaft on the Moon as a method of housing a settlementon the Moon and the minimum power requirements to drill bore holes for the chargesto be set in. Discussion was primarily about the use of power for the drill to drivethe bit, Think alternative to pneumatic power.
Also brought up was the status of the "Power Beaming Demonstration Kit" and if itis available for use. If so, how may it be "borrowed" for use in a demonstration.
Teleprescience Racing, has demonstrated a weakness in the RF broadcasting area. The signal is such that the signal is easily blocked if there is no direct line of sight transmission. Don and Stuart are researching a solution to the problem and for more
robust racers.
We had eight members present at the meeting. Next meeting is February 18th,same place, same time.
