Our September Meeting was held as scheduled at Denny's, 9-16-11 at 3:00 pm.
 
We had five members present for the meeting.
 
First item of business was the website and improvements on it.

  1. Item a, Applying for a PayPal account - Voted on and approved.
  2. Dues button for paying Chapter Dues and helping track payments - Voted on and approved.
  3. Affiliate Agreements with various stores investigation for income  - Voted on and approved.
  4. Adding our Logo Shirts and other items to sell on the website,  - Voted on and approved.

Second item of business was the announcement that Patti Hultstrand is the new Editor of the Central Arizona Speculative Fiction Society's News Letter "ConNotations".  The Chapter voted to help Patti in anyway that it can and Patti would allow us to run book reviews on our website.
 
Third item, The Moon Society Phoenix Chapter has it's own facebook page.  The page is currently a closed page but members have been asked to make comments on the page whether or not to open the page to none members.  Nonmembers may e-mail me at portercd@msn.com with their thoughts.
 
Fourth item was a discussion on the Local "Space Forum" with information from Mike Mackowski, but Mike was unavailable.  Any decision on the forum and our participation was tabled for now.
 
Fifth item of business was a discussion of what our participation in LepreCon would be other than a information table.  Panel options, demonstrations and other item were discussed.
 
Sixth item was Presentations for "Tranquility Community College" on the MSPHX website. There are currently two presentations that can be down loaded and used by others for presentations.  Also planned for future presentations are "Lunar Ground Transportation", "Industrialization of the Moon", "Military Presence on the Moon", "Settlement of the Moon and the Planning", and "Lunar Gardening for Settlements".  If you have a presentation to add to the Website please contact me at the above e-mail address or on the Moon Society facebook page you can also leave a message on the website..
 
Seventh item was projects in  work or in design, "Teleprescience Racing", we now have three race cars and will set up a "wet run" of a race at our October meeting.  The "wet run" will be taped and broadcast on our website after the race is over.  Future races are projected to be broadcast live.  Next is a small "rail gun" for demonstrative purposes, low powered and safe to use designed to spark interest in young people.  Also in  the pipeline are dioramas of Lunar Settlements, Lunar Craters, Apollo Landing Site and others to be determined at a later date.
